Hair Production Stages
Among various hair processing technologies, two main methods can be highlighted, covering the nuances of all the others — these are hot and cold methods.
Despite the differences between these methods, they have many common stages, but let's go through everything step by step.
At the very beginning, the hair is sorted by length and type to ensure that straight hair doesn't conflict with wavy, curly, and other types in the final product.
Next, all cuts are combed out. This procedure is necessary to remove hair shorter than 20 cm (standard). At this stage, the Double Drawn and Super Double Drawn techniques can also be applied. These techniques are used to create Lux, Premium, and Exclusive products.
The next stage is sewing onto fabric. We use spunbond fabric, which allows chemicals to pass through well and securely holds the hair. The hair is sewn onto the fabric using an industrial sewing machine. The threads are made of natural material to avoid damaging the hair.
Next, the technologies begin to diverge.
For the hot method, the hair must be treated with an iron solution. This helps protect the hair and even out the color at the end of the process. For the cold method, this procedure is not required. The hair is immediately placed into baths with solutions that lighten the hair. So now you know that the hair is not dyed but lightened. We will dye it later. The products we use, by the way, are professional and industrial, from the well-known American company Lowenstein.
The main differences between the cold and hot methods are time. It's not hard to guess that the hot method delivers faster results, but this method is riskier compared to the cold one, as it is more aggressive towards the hair. Therefore, monitoring hair quality is more challenging!
So, the main lightening process in the chemicals is complete. Some results are good, some not so much... what next? Of course, rinsing. The hair is thoroughly washed in warm water. If the result is good, the hair is treated with special oils and industrial conditioners, after which it is sent for drying. The cuts that did not lighten well (this also happens) are sent for toning. Toning can also be done in several ways, but that's not so important. What's important is that we bring all the hair to a high-quality result, allowing us to offer you a wide palette of options!
Final stages:
- drying
- removal from the fabric
- re-tying
I'd like to say a few words about re-tying separately. This is a very important and labor-intensive process. It is necessary to ensure that all the hair gathered in a ponytail/cut is aligned at the top, meaning the beginning of each strand is level with the others. Every extension specialist is familiar with this process!
And finally, our ponytails/cuts are tied with an elastic band, combed for the last time, and sent to the display shelf, waiting for their beautiful owner!
